Our West Coast Operations Manager Larry Strief hails from Cool, California. Yes, Cool actually is a town in CA, a little north of Sacramento. Larry started his career as an electrician, soon venturing into solar as it became more popular in CA around 2005. Larry was hired by Adam Bernstein, founder of Next Phase Solar in 2009. Next Phase Solar is believed to be the first Solar O&M company in the US. As one of the first employees of NPS, Larry helped develop testing procedures and processes still used by PV techs today. Larry continued with NPS though its sale to Enphase Energy in 2015. He moved to Sun System Technology in 2016, quickly moving up the ranks to Director of Field Operations for O&M services before leaving in 2018. Larry is certainly one of, if not the most experienced solar O&M tech in the country. Larry holds a California C10 Electrical Contractor license and OSHA 30 card along with many other trade related certificates including training on many inverters and monitoring systems.

Our East Coast Operations Manager Michael Cooper grew up in a family electrical business owned by his father and brother. Mike has over 30 years of electrical experience and has worked in the Solar industry since about 2007. His experience with solar O&M began with Next Phase Solar where he met and worked with Larry. Mike brings a strong technical background to PPE. Over the years he has become proficient in multiple computer programming languages, as well as analog electronic design, this coupled with years of experience as an electrician leave him well prepared to tackle most technical problems. Mike holds a NJ Electrical Contractor license, A Colorado Master Electrician License, OSHA 30 card and a TWIC card along with many other trade related certificates, including a NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification.
